Green Bay, Wis., Dec. 6, 2023 – Breakthrough, a leading transportation management technology solutions provider, has been named a recipient of this year’s “Top Software and Technology Provider Award” by Food Logistics and Supply & Demand Chain Executive, two industry-leading publications covering the cold food and beverage supply chain and global supply chain respectively.
The award recognizes the most innovative and new-to-market solutions to enter the supply chain space. Breakthrough has been recognized for enhancing network visibility across the transportation supply chain through recent upgrades to its Capac–ID solution, the industry’s most comprehensive productivity platform. Capac-ID automatically uncovers top opportunity lanes in a shipper’s network and provides actionable recommendations based on real-time data to inform more resilient and agile transportation strategies.
“Shippers need greater network and market visibility and clear opportunities to boost efficiencies and reduce costs,” said John Teggart, President at Breakthrough. “We’re proud to receive the 2023 Top Software and Technology Provider Award, as it illustrates our commitment to empowering shippers with the data, technology, and market expertise to withstand the ever-changing dynamics and volatility of the freight market.”
Breakthrough was recognized in the Enterprise Supply Chain Visibility Solutions category. In addition to actionable push recommendations, Breakthrough augmented its Capac–ID solution with more advanced benchmarking capability and carrier search tools to provide greater network and market visibility within the platform. Capac-ID identifies carrier partners with specific attributes, enabling shippers to choose partners with shared values. The update also featured visibility to real-time, fair-market benchmarking on every truckload and intermodal movement in the U.S. and Canada.
The enhancements to Capac-ID strategically broaden the impact and value of Breakthrough’s suite of existing transportation management solutions, including Network Intelligence, CleanMile and Fuel Recovery. Collectively, the suite of solutions empowers food shippers with fair and accurate fuel reimbursements, linehaul rate and partnership guidance, recommendations that uncover network inefficiencies, and scope 1 and 3 transportation emissions reduction.
In a recent example, Shearer’s Snacks simultaneously reduced fuel costs by leveraging real-time, lane-level data to calculate exact fuel reimbursements and increased new carriers to their bid by 27% with Capac-ID’s advanced carrier search tools.
“From robotics and warehouse automation to procurement and ERP software, WMS, TMS and supply chain visibility solutions, the supply chain software and technology sector continues to boom. These solutions (and many more) are designed to streamline, optimize and innovate the supply chain and logistics space, and do so by incorporating emerging technologies and a path to efficiency,” says Marina Mayer, Editor-in-Chief of Food Logistics and Supply & Demand Chain Executive.
