- Green Bay, Wis., March 22, 2023 — Breakthrough, a leading transportation technology solutions provider, today announced that Supply & Demand Chain Executive has named Jenny Vander Zanden (Chief Operating Officer), Matt Muenster (Chief Economist), and Cam Aukeman (Senior Director, Freight Experience) to its 2023 Pros to Know list.
Over the past three years, the supply chain has seen continuous disruptions with labor shortages, shifting global dynamics, and peak seasonal challenges. Supply & Demand Chain Executive recognizes these executives whose achievements and success stories have not only worked toward helping mend the supply chain, but also foster ongoing roadmaps, critical strategies, and execution plans for their customers and other industry leaders in the midst of uncertainty.
“We’re proud to have Supply & Demand Chain Executive recognize these outstanding Breakthrough leaders who are dedicated to ensuring Breakthrough, its clients, and other transportation leaders have the knowledge and support to implement actionable supply chain efficiencies,” said John Teggart, President at Breakthrough. “Congratulations to Jenny, Matt, and Cam on this accomplishment. I thank them for their commitment to making Breakthrough and the transportation industry more efficient each and every day!”
Supply & Demand Chain Executive recognized each for their commitment and meaningful contributions to improving the supply chain, specifically:
- Jenny Vander Zanden, Chief Operating Officer, has been a driving force in growing Breakthrough’s product portfolio, including Fuel Recovery, the industry-leading transportation fuel reimbursement solution. Vander Zanden leads Client Delivery efforts at Breakthrough, consistently playing a significant role in guiding client strategies. Most recently, she’s focused on client adoption of CleanMile, a solution focused on decarbonization of the transportation industry.
- Matt Muenster, Chief Economist, was recognized not only for his freight and energy market expertise, but also for his commitment to delivering data-driven analysis on the ever-evolving market to Breakthrough clients and professional associations. Muenster leads the development of the Breakthrough Advisor, a monthly publication delivering in-depth analysis of the global energy and freight markets, including outlooks and forecasts and various market spotlights. Muenster’s team guides many of the world’s largest shippers to make proactive decisions and better prepare for potential disruptions.
- Cam Aukeman, Senior Director, Freight Experience, consistently looks for opportunities to create fair and accurate partnerships between shippers and carriers. Aukeman was recognized for his ability to find critical cost saving opportunities for many of Breakthrough’s shipper clients. With his listen, learn, and lead leadership style, Aukeman designs holistic transportation network strategies that target the root cause of challenges.
“This year’s list is filled with supply chain professionals whose achievements and success stories have helped move the needle in the supply chain. They promote safety, sustainability and workforce development. They work toward helping heal the supply chain. They’re actually in the supply chain,” said Marina Mayer, Editor-in-Chief of Supply & Demand Chain Executive and Food Logistics. “We received close to 400 nominations this year, the highest number of nominations ever for this award. It’s proof that today’s supply chain professionals are doing great things for the supply chain. They embody what a true leader should be. And, without their initiatives, programs and collaborative efforts, today’s supply chain would be in worse shape.”
