Teggart succeeds Doug Mueller and will play an instrumental role in delivering client value, continuing to develop the scope of impact, and expanding the organization
Green Bay, Wis., August 16, 2022 — Breakthrough, a leading strategic transportation solutions provider, announced it has tapped industry veteran John Teggart to serve as its new president, effective August 4, 2022. Teggart succeeds Doug Mueller, the company’s president and CEO for the past 15 years.
Teggart has proven himself a leader in the logistics industry and brings over 25 years of experience, including two positions at Fortune 500 companies, to his new role at Breakthrough. As president, he is committed to acting in the best interest of the clients and the Breakthrough team. Breakthrough’s core values are an integral part of the company, and Teggart will continue to lead the team in broadening client value and continuing to expand the portfolio in the FELIX platform.
The appointment comes amid a stretch of tremendous growth for the company. Breakthrough, well known as a leader in transportation fuel management, has expanded their offering to include a holistic approach to transportation management. Network Intelligence optimizes a company’s transportation network using strategic recommendations derived from real-time performance metrics. Earlier this year, Breakthrough enhanced its ESG capabilities by unveiling CleanMile. Breakthrough’s CleanMile is the first product of its kind that makes it possible for companies to track network emissions and execute targeted low-carbon strategies to reduce their transportation carbon footprint.
“I’ve always been relentless in my pursuit and passionate about leading and scaling teams in a way that benefits clients,” said Teggart. “Breakthrough’s value to clients and the exceptional, passionate people behind the industry-leading platform are what make this company special. With our unwavering commitment to clients and a growth mindset, we’re continuing to make a difference in our clients’ supply chains. Additionally, being part of the U.S. Venture family of companies ensures we have the resources to invest in supporting our clients’ long-term goals.”
Volatile fuel costs, growing transportation challenges, and a greater push for carbon reduction drives a need for effective technology and tools to guide strategic decisions. With this, Teggart will play a key role in growing the organization to meet the needs of today’s complex supply chain.
“We have made tremendous progress in the transportation sector, and under John’s leadership going forward, I believe Breakthrough is well-positioned to meet the opportunities and challenges of the future,” said Doug Mueller, former President and CEO of Breakthrough. “It is with profound gratitude that I say thank you to our valued clients. Our clients have partnered with us to inform their logistics and transportation strategies with clear unbiased insights. These strategies have challenged traditional approaches and delivered distinguished value. It has been a distinct pleasure to serve many of the world’s leading household brands, and I look forward to Breakthrough’s continued momentum with John at the helm.”
